Different types of Surrogacy arrangements
Surrogacy has come up as an alternative to all those couples
who are looking out for a solution for their Infertility issues since long. Not
only did it serve to all of them with perfection for achieving their dreams of
“Parenthood”, it brought a world of happiness back into their lives. Moreover,
there are mainly two types of Surrogacy arrangements in practice nowadays i.e.
gestational surrogacy and Traditional surrogacy.
Traditional surrogacy
vs. Gestational surrogacy
Traditional surrogacy is referred to a process where the
surrogate mother gets artificially inseminated by the sperm from the Intended
father or a Donor. Moreover, she carries the child in her womb till its birth
and required to hand it over to its Intended parents after its birth under
Legal obligations. The Intended father and the Surrogate mother would be
biologically connected to the child in this kind of arrangement.
On the other hand, a gestational surrogacy arrangement
comprises of the eggs coming from the Intended mother or a Donor which gets
artificially inseminated along with the Intended father’s sperm in the uterus
of the Surrogate mother. In this type of Surrogacy Arrangement, both the
Intended parents are biologically connected with the child unlike the surrogate
mother.
Gestational surrogacy occurs along with the In vitro
Fertilization treatment and the Surrogate mother is been referred to as the
Birth mother in this process whereas in the Traditional surrogacy process, she
is been termed as the Biological mother for the child she is carrying.
Why Gestational
Surrogacy is more popular than Traditional surrogacy?
Gestational surrogacy is mostly preferred by couples around
the world over Traditional surrogacy as it’s been termed as an easier and
convenient Surrogacy Arrangement altogether. Although the Surrogate mother
won’t be biologically connected to the child hereby, she will still be carrying
it in her womb till its birth.
Still there isn’t
much difference between both of the surrogacy arrangements and its generally
been termed so as to differentiate their roles during the IVF treatment process.
In both the cases, the Surrogate mother would act as a career for the Intended
parents in order to give the birth to their child and while she might not be
sharing her genes with the child in the Gestational surrogacy, her relevance
would still remain the same during the whole process. Still it doesn’t matter
which surrogacy arrangement you go for, always look out for a healthy surrogate
while keeping all the legal obligations clear prior to the arrangement.
Moreover, if you are looking for an Efficient and supportive
Surrogacy agency in mumbai for your requirement.
